Been a bit busy......

...sorry! Had a rush of family birthdays etc etc. Now the day has passed I can share with you the card I made for my Father in Law's birthday...well I say card, it is actually a 3D Frame and picture. When my in-laws were more mobile they liked to take a trip to the shore and sit and watch the boats etc. With this in mind I thought a sailing dingy might be appreciated, and I am please to say he loved it! What do you think?

Don't forget to come back for the Quirky Crafts Challenge launch on Sunday....here's a sneeky peak at my offering:-

Quirky Crafts Challenge

It's time for the launch of the next challenge over on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog. Before I show you my contribution this week, I just want to say my own personal thank you to those who entered the challenge last week. It was my first turn at setting the challenge, and I was convinced no one would bother to enter. So thanks to all those who did, and I was especially pleased to see the comments from people who had never tried and easel card before and are now hooked!
On to this week. This challenge is set by Caro, details can be found on the challenge blog. The theme is Easter, but with sparkle and glitter and it must contain one punched shape. Here is mine:-

As crafters we are always making things for others, and as it was my birthday this week I decided this time it was going to be for me......how selfish is that?? So I have a lovely bar of bubbly Galaxy here decorated up for Easter......not sure if will last that long mind you, but still! My bunny is a digital stamp from Digital Delights By Louby Loo he is coloured with promarkers and his ears and feet are a glitter gel pen. My flowers are punched from yellow glitter card and the easter eggs in the basket are punched and then glittered. Then of course there are my glitter bands down the edges....enough glitter Caro???

Dan's Birthday

We all know that male cards can often cause us to tear our hair out....but when it is your Son's 16th birthday...it's about as bad as it gets.   I was struggling this year. I have done the computer/music/playstation/x-box/ favorite computer game/ football/ golf options, and really was at a loss this year. Then I came up with this
Sorry it is a bit of a shaky picture, didn't notice until I uploaded. Anyway, when he got it there was a £20 note in the coin pocket, to add to his present, and he seemed happy enough with it. That's that problem over for another year!

WOYWW 95

A very Good Morning to you all....
Here is my desk today
Sorry it is a bit of a rubbish shot...way too dark but you see it was quite early when I took it, and of course as they have insisted on messing with the clocks again (which I still haven't adjusted too) my craftroom is dark for longer. Now if that isn't a reason for the powers that be to change the law...I don't know what is!
I am struggling to make 2 mothers day cards for the weekend. I have the main card cut and assembled. I have gone for a swirled heart swing card....which stupidly isn't in the picture (Doh! told you I wasn't with it). My problem is what to decorate it with...I am thinking hand made flowers..hence the variety of punches etc all over my desk. I think I will use a cutting file though as none of the punches seem to deliver just the right size for the project. I need to trawl though my files to find something to suit I think.
Anyway...that's me for today...not very inspiring really, sorry about that. To be more inspired by lots of other crafters nip to The Stamping Ground where Julia lets you into everyone else's home to have a nosey when they are not there...it's fun!
See you later then..

Quirky Crafts Challenge

It is challenge launch time again over on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog. This time it is my turn to chose the challenge and I have gone for a twisted easel card. If you haven't tackled one before the best thing to do is to search on YouTube and you will see lots of videos showing you how to achieve this effect. I think that would be of more use to you than if I try to explain how to do it, don't be scared, they are easy...honest. For those followers who would rather make something other than a card I have chosen a Mothers Day Gift. We have two sponsors this week, Crafty Ribbons and the Stamping Boutique ( head over to the Quirky Blog to see details), so you could win one of two prizes with your entry.
As always the design team were given a choice of stamps to work with and I chose the Jennifer Bubble Latte stamp from the stamping boutique, mainly because I love the image and my Daughter is called Jennifer, so it kind of fitted.
Here is my easel card.......twisted and just for good measure twinned... Hope you like..

Come and see us all over at Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog and join in the fun....hope to see your entry soon!
