swim card

I received a phone call yesterday with, I think, the most bizarre request for a card that I have received to date.......wait for it.....

"Can you please do me a Congratulations for learning to swim card?"

ok, never done one of those before!!!
here is what I came up with...

I found this adorable image on a site called Tiddly Inks.com. Just what I needed. Card shape and mats and lettering designed and cut on my Cameo.

Latest Makes..

Hello Everyone,

Well I am trying to get back into blogging again, but I was finding it difficult. So I decided the blog needed a new look. Boy was Blogger being awkward! I think I finally found the way I like it. I really hope it will inspire me to blog more....
So what have I been up to? Quite a bit really....
This one was for Valentines Day. My trusty Cameo did the business with the hearts. The sentiment was created in Craft Artist and the border made using a Martha Stewart punch.

Then came this...
A birthday card for my Cousins son. This one ordered by my Mum. He is 5 and into football in a big way so I used these Tumble Teddy images for him....
And from me? well I decided to go a bit more grown up for him and made this..
.Created from an Anna Marie template again using the trusty Cameo.
Then the time was shooting by and it came to my Daughters 22nd. Now Jenny is into baking in a big way, so I made a lovely apron card for her with little utensils that could be removed from the pocket, all in a Kath Kidsonesque fabric pattern....then I forgot to photograph it!  Doh!
My Son also wanted a nice card for her and I came up with this....
I had a request from Mum for a card for her friend. I am into butterflies at the moment, isn't it funny how we crafters have phases?
The stamp across the middle is a Fiskars wheel stamp, I love them! The black borders from a Martha Stewart punch and butterflies are Spellbinders dies.

Finally, if anyone is still with me?
up to date now, and actually ahead of myself (who said "That's a first")?
This one for Mother in Laws Birthday next week.
She is so addicted to her cups of tea that a few weeks ago, after tipping over her mobility scooter and crashing headlong into the back of a bus, she refused a trip to hospital until she had gone to the cafe and had the cup of tea she was heading for when the accident happened! Even though she was badly bruised and had broken her collar bone! So what else could I do but a cup of tea?

And, absolutely, finally, no really this time....
Mothers day next week end. I can show these now because My Mum wouldn't use a computer if I paid her to and Mother in Law doesn't follow the blog....
I know...butterflies...again! But I do love the new bow die from Sue Wilson....so maybe you will see more of those and less butterflies in future....who knows?
Thanks for reading...
Good Afternoon Blogland Peeps!

The South of England is recovering from Storm Jude ( which is apparently what they are calling it now??). We were very lucky. In Southampton we seem to be in a little hollow with the rivers Itchen and Test around us, which usually protects us from the worst of the weather, thankfully. We did have a tree down in the woods behind our house, but apart from the neighbours loosing a few fence panels we were all ok, no one injured. My thoughts go out to those who weren't so lucky. Apparently we are in for another battering down here on Friday!

On to cards. I looked ahead on my diary and panicked. I have three family birthdays in the space of two days!
Here are my offerings.....
This one if for my Cousins Wife, and the next is for an older Cousins Wife, who happens to be the Mother in Law of the first Cousins Wife....confused?    you will be.......
Both made from the Shoes CD Rom by Katy Sue....love her designs.
The next for my Nephew, who is just 3 years old...
I used Tumble Ted for this one. Hope you like.

Back, but not very happy!!!

I didn't really realise how long it has been since my last blog (this is sounding like the beginning of a confession! LOL)
Without realising it I had got myself in a Blog Rut. I had fallen in to the habit of blogging for the Quirky Craft Design Team entries, and only those posts. Without realising it I had got to the point where I was blogging because I had to, not because I wanted to. Once I left the Quirky Team I just stopped....just like that. It was a few weeks before I realised it myself, and only a few weeks ago when a fellow blogger (hello Di) contacted me in response to a comment I had placed on her blog, did I realise how long I had been away.

Now the funny thing is I have been meaning to start up again and see if anyone (apart from Di) is actually still following me, but I just didn't know what to write about. I looked at the blog and it looked tired, so I have tried to spruce it up a bit to get my interest back.

It is a bit sad that the thing to prompt me back into blogland is something that has made me really cross. I have spent ages creating to frames for my little cousins birthday which is coming up. It is safe to show you because she is far to young to follow blogs. She is mad on Disney princesses so I thought that I would make something she could keep. My Mum also wants a card to send her...hence the two.

I finished one this morning and put it aside to dry, then completed number two. I decided they would be my blog relaunch post. Out came the camera and then I saw it........the blasted silicone glue has soaked through on the first one (Aurora in blue). That has never happened to me before! The thing that has made me really cross is that if I had seen that first I wouldn't have used the same glue for the second one..GGGRRRRR!
I am hoping that the marks will dry out overnight, otherwise I will have to start again. Can you see the blodges????

WOYWW

Hello everyone...I am being very brave today...I have decided to join in the WOYWW "club". So this is my first post in this area, and I hope you will be gentle with me?
Well here is my work desk this morning... I have tidied up a bit in your honour, but won't promise to do that every week!! As you can see I haven't got far with my promarker collection yet. I made my storage area along the back there...now I just have to fill it. Problem is I have loads of duplicate colours due to gift, so I have only put out one of each. My tool holder on the left hand side was made from a tutorial I found on a blog. I was really pleased with that.
The card I am finishing off today is for my little cousin who is gorgeous and two years old this week. Here's a closer look:-

I have been following the WOYWW blogs for a while now...hope you don't mind me joining in!

P.S. thank you for your welcome messages WOYWW ladies....I promise I won't tidy up before I photograph next week!!
