Bits and Bobs

I promised myself to make an effort this week...so here I am again. Two posts in one week!

My first offering in this post is a quick card I made today for my little cousins birthday next week. Because I needed to get it done quickly I used my Silhouette subscription to download the file for the following card. I think he will love it. The papers were printed at home from kits designed by Summertime Designs.

My second offering today fulfills my intention to make myself get back into my crafting and blogging. I have been following the MoJo Monday blog for years and often use one of the layouts for a starting point inspiration, but I have never completed the current challenge...until now. This is being entered into MoJo Monday challenge number 433, you can find the challenge here.

A lovely blogging acquaintance of mine, also called Diane, was kind enough to email me this week. She decided to check up on me because I hadn't been visible online for a while. Wasn't that jolly nice and caring of her? It was much appreciated.
Di has a blog called Pixies Crafty Workshop. She has a weekly "playground" where pupils can link cards made from snippits, you know....all that stuff we all save 'incase it is useful'. Well the following card was made with everything from my scrap box except the base card and the stamped image.

Catching Up...

Hello???
Anyone There???

Quite possibly not as I am such a bad, bad blogger!
Well, if there is anyone there I thought you might like to see a couple of things I have managed to do.
This was my Christmas Card for my Mum this year. I am hooked on Stampin Up stuff and have built quite a collection over the last year. I normally do a standard card for everyone I send to and then something more individual to Parents. As we lost both Kev's Mum and Dad during the year it is just My Mum left now. Christmas was a bit sad for My Hubby!

I also had a couple of birthdays to make for around Christmas.

Once Christmas was out of the way I couldn't face the craft room at all. I really need something to kick start me again, because when I actually get to it I feel much better and actually enjoy myself, so I don't understand why I am finding it so hard to get going nowadays!
I wanted to do something different.....so.......

My first ever folded book. Loved doing it too!

80th Birthday Celebration

My Auntie June is 80 years old very soon. My Mum wanted a card for her sister so I came up with this one.
I made the background paper from a free font download from Hungry Jpeg...some very interesting font bundles on their site.

My card to her is a simple one. I used my favourite stamp set from Stampin Up, Lotus Blossom. This stamp set was the first I purchased from Stampin Up. I have spent quite a lot on Stampin Up stuff since, but I love it all.

A new member of the family....

My Husband's Niece is due to have her second child today, by C section. We know it is to be a girl, so I am being very organised and making the card ready to post.

The pink background came from my scrap box, originally printed from free kit I found online. The pink glitter backing circle was also from by scraps box. The image is from Digistamp Boutique, coloured with specrum noir pens. The white border cut with a docrafts die. The sentiment was from Stampin Up.

Fingers crossed for a safe delivery. Hope she likes the card.....

Trying to get back.....

Following all the upset around here since January I have been really struggling to craft. I have managed to pull together a few birthday cards for Family etc....well enough to avoid having to actually buy a card in a shop (then I would really know I was in trouble). Trouble is my MoJo, as they say, has gone....not lacking....completely gone. I have come into my craft room many times over the past few weeks, determined to make something, I have shuffled some stuff around, tidied up a bit, tried to organise something, and on the odd occasion, started making something. Usually the "something" has ended up in the bin and I have walked out again having achieved absolutely nothing.
Well...ENOUGH!
I've had ENOUGH!

We don't have a large family, well not that we have much contact with anyway, which means there is not a huge need for cards to make me produce something. So what's a girl to do?

I have decided that to make me get back into this wonderful hobby I need to find a reason to make. My Daughter and her partner, and soon my Son as well, work for a wonderful local company who seem to do a lot to raise monies for charities in the area. They often have raffles, so I decided to make some card sets to donate to their raffles as prizes. This is my first one. I struggled a bit to begin with, but by the end I was actually starting to have fun. I thought I had better show them, so here they are. Not my best maybe, but a reasonable start on my way back.

I have just discovered that Blogger isn't supporting the new browser in windows 10! What a pain!
