WOYWW

It is Wednesday again...already, so its time to have a nosey around everyone's desk. Apologies for being a bit late to joint he party today. Had to go out this morning and then when I got back I grabbed some time in the garden as it was sunny (yes SUNNY!!!)
So here I am today

Maggie has deserted me today as you can see from her empty bed. She is laying in the sun in the garden. So, on my desk we have a new small sewing machine bought from Ebay, arrived yesterday. Quite limited in the kind of stitches, but it does do proper stitches, not the chain stitch on the back kind. My super duper machine has broken and I cant get a reply to my emails from the local repair shop. (Don't you just hate that?). My trusty old sewing machine weighs a ton, and I just don't want to struggle it out of the cupboard just to stitch on a card....so this is my solution to that problem and I think it will do nicely. Also on the desk the start of a quick card for my Son's friend. He turns 17  tomorrow so it is a driving theme, with the price of a driving lesson inside as a gift. What else...oh a flower making cd I bought ages ago and haven't yet used. I decided I would use it more if I could cut them by machine, so am in the process of importing and tracing them in Silhouette. I think that is about it really. Come to join the party at Julia's blog The Stamping Ground there's usually lots to see....

  2. I have been wanting to buy a small sewing machine just for paper crafting as well. I hate using my good one on it. You're desk looks nice and organized. Glad you got some garden time, I'm enjoying rain right now.

  6. Your desk looks busy! I love that!! Now, about the little sewing machine. I don't have a clue how to use a sewing machine. No, I never took sewing in High School. So, I bought this little sewing machine for $20. It uses 2 bobbins, one is for the thread on top. I couldn't for the life of me get the bobbin thread to work!! I had to watch 20 Youtube videos and have DH help me! Now, the top thread is having a problem! First it was breaking so I loosened the tension. Perhaps too much? But it STILL WONT SEW PAPER FOR ME!! I am telling you this whole story because you seem to have a clue and the same machine. So, any pointers for me?????
    Have an awesome WOYWW!!

  8. Cute little machine, I have one of those but never use it. My sewing machine lives permanately on its table, I would hate for it to get sick. Love your space and I can't blame the dog I would lay in the sun too if I had the chance.

  9. Your desk is looking quite put together for having so much going on. I understand the bit about not wanting to drag out the big clunky machine for stitching a card. I don't want to drag out my machine for fear people will expect me to mend stuff! Sometimes I do wish I had a small machine for whipping out stitches on cards. I love the look of it. #164

  12. Know exactly what you mean about the BIG sewing machine. I got mine out twice to do the stuff on my desk this week. First for Timmy's tag then again as I had the bug to do more... As for driving cards, ever tried the lego wheel thing, where you ink up one wheel and hold the axle and roll it along the card to make tyre tracks, works well on driving cards. BJ#52

  15. Just very impressed by our casual mention that you're importing from a cd to make files for cutting, I mean, am I the only one who hasn't a clue how you'd do that?! Keep packet of sewing machine needles handy, they blunt really quickly on card!!
