Morning Everyone.

Today I am feeling a bit down and dreading tomorrow. Tomorrow is the second anniversary of the death of my lovely Dad. Although he was suffering from several medical conditions, he died suddenly from the one of the conditions that no one was at all concerned about, and it took us all completely by surprise. I still miss him terribly, so tomorrow won't be great. I would normally visit Mum with some flowers, but she is going away for a few days at the weekend so won't be there to appreciate them. Instead I decided to make her a little something that she could take with her if she wants to.

I remembered a program I got ages ago to create photo pages laid out in such a way that the A4 sheet could be cut into from each end and scored to fold into the inside of the book. I have seen similar instructions to create photo books from 12X12 paper...but this allows you to print the photos straight onto the pages. The kit also included the chip board covers. I hadn't got around to using the kit before, you know how it is! I have to say I was pleased with the effect, the book looks professional and sturdy. I will take it up to Mum tomorrow to check she is ok.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Week 84 on the workdesk tour already!
If you have no idea what I am talking about, go to The Stamping Ground and check out Julia's blog and you get to be really nosey and look around loads of other work areas too.

As for my work desk this morning:-

Not a whole lot happening here really. Had a busy work day yesterday so not much crafting got started. I did receive my new copy of papercraft inspirations yesterday. There are some free templates inside. Being a lazy so and so I decided that I wouldn't be bothered to draw the templates out and cut them by hand every time I wanted to use them. So I created a cut file, just from the flower sheet at the moment, which means I can easily cut them whenever I want. I have to say though that I tried to make up the rolled flower/rose on the sheet, and didn't have much success. I curled it as described and then stuck the end, but I found that the petals wouldn't fold back without ripping. I think I may have rolled too tightly, so I will have to try again. Made me think of the cuttlebug quilling flowers actually. Does anyone have any of those? Are they any good? I wonder if  you need to buy the long bug plates to use them, anyone know?
Enough questions for one day. Go see Julia's blog and enjoy a nose around.

Quirky Crafts Challenge

If all goes according to plan and the post timer works, it should now be Sunday evening, and the new craft challenge over at Quirky Crafts Challenge should by now have been announced...fingers crossed.

The new challenge theme is "In The Garden". I have been asked to join in as a guest designer as I was lucky enough to win a challenge in December. My winning card is here if you would like to see it. I have been provided with some lovely digital stamps from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps to work with and also some lovely papers from their Love Blooms Paper Kit. They were lovely to work with. This is what I came up with:-

The papers were so lovely I didn't what or need to add too much to the card, just a bit of mirri card. I printed the Dahlia Stamp out several times, coloured with my promarkers and the cut and decoupaged the flower. I also added some flower stamens to the centre. Hope you like it. Pop on over to Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog to join in the challenge.

Guest Designer Spot.

I am going to give you a little tease of a card I have just finished for a guest designer spot on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog. This is for the new challenge launching Sunday evening. Can't tell you any more about it yet, because if I do Cazzy will probably kill me!

Here is the teaser then:-

Hi Everyone

Not a good start to the day really today....I have just spent over 2 hours on the phone with the Virgin Team trying to regain internet access that has been lost since yesterday morning. After crawling around behind desks un-plugging and re-plugging cables we are finally back on. So I headed straight here to do my post and.....the camera battery is flat so I can't take a "this morning" picture...ARRRggghh!

I do have a couple of this weeks makes that I can share with you though.
Today is our 20th Wedding Anniversary, so here is the card I made for Him Indoors!

Last weeks visitors may remember that I was having a lot of trouble with my Forever Friends black and gold disc. Well I did eventually get a response from Docrafts....but only an email asking me to send them a screen shot or the file I was trying to print, and I have not received any further assistance from them :-(   at all. I have taken matters into my own hands and found a way to use my DSA2 program to access and store the images from the CD so I can use them. To anyone else in this position I would recommend this as I can now use the DSA2 program to manipulate the images and get much more out of the artwork than I ever would have using the DoCrafts Software.
I then went on to make this card for my neice's birthday at the end of January. I am going to have to be careful....I am getting far too organised here!

Sorry you can't have a snoop around the desk this week, but I will make sure I am all charged up for next weeks visit. I hope to be able to visit more desks this week, last week was a bit hectic..(internet permitting). If you have no idea what all this desk snooping is about head on over to Stamping Ground and on Julia's blog you can find out all about it and get links to be nosey on everyone else's blog too.
Have a good day !

Happy New Year WOYWWers!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Our house was struck down with Flu......the amount of boxes of tissues I have bought over the last 3 weeks....well...just don't go there. I hope the rest of you managed to stay lurgy free and have a fun time with loved ones.

Because of the lurgy I have been forced to declare today a Housework Day. (Sorry about the bad language!). The house is a tip, well perhaps not that bad to an onlooker, but to me it is bad and is starting to annoy me, but of course it isn't worth clearing up unless I have first taken down the deccies. To do it the other way would mean glitter and tinsel everywhere and having to clean twice....not going to happen, so I am in for a busy day.

Craft wise nothing much happened over the break, too busy tending the sick.
I did manage to do my Cousin's 60th card yesterday, (see last post), but still have our anniversary card to do. I was going to use papers and images from my Forever Friends Black and Gold CD...had the design in my head, but found that the CD works fine...until you come to print and then it doesn't want to know. After Googling I see lots of people have had this problem, and like me no one seems to be able to get an email response from Docrafts......here we go again...more hassle.
Here is my desk this morning....as you can see it really needs a tidy too....Julia...I even have uncleaned stamps, a first for me!

Hi to all new followers. If you are wondering what the heck is going on here, shoot on over to Stamping Ground, Julia's blog, where a group of us all share our workspace each week for a bit of fun and a nose around.

Welcome to New Followers!!

Well...that's Christmas done and dusted I guess.....can't say I am sorry to see the back of it this time though. We have all been ill all over Christmas so I can't wait to get the deccies down and get back to normal. Such a shame when we spend so much time planning and organising it. To all of you who have suffered similarly...my commiserations.

To those visiting as a result of the Feline Playful- give a comment receive a comment, become a follower, receive a follower....welcome to my blog, I hope you like what you see. I am behind in my visiting because of illness, so I am adapting the rules slightly and am working my way through the list in my own way. I do hope no one minds this, I will visit everyone on the list...I promise. I have already found some new blog friends and some very interesting blogs.

I have just finished my card to my Cousin who is 60 years old on the 14th January. I am having trouble getting my head around this as it has really made me realise that I am getting old! Ron was always like a brother to me as we were very close to his parents, they were surrogate Grandparents to me really. It just doesn't feel right that his is about to hit the big 60! I don't think he is a blogger, so I am safe to post a picture now. Hope he likes it! Couldn't resist getting a little dig in on the inside.....wording reads "Congratualtions...you are Vintage!"
